Sea View Lodge

Sea View Lodge is situated on a peaceful hillside with stunning sea and woodland views overlooking our 6 acre valley and meadow, brimming with wildlife, in the village of Cockwood. With a choice of two pub/restaurants a short stroll away, one of which is on the harbour waterfront, relax and soak up the atmosphere of its 450 year history.

Dawlish, Cockwood and its beautiful coastline is at your fingertips boat trips, coastal walks, birdwatching, scenic rail trips, and endless seafood menus and real ales just to mention a few of whats on offer in this part of Devon.

Known for its mild temperature and long sunny days the English Riviera is close at hand. Powderham Castle (only 4 miles distant) home to the Earl of Devon is open to the public featuring weekly events aimed at pleasing the children, during the summer season. Many National Trust properties are within a 20 mile radius and well worth a visit.

Dawlish is just 3 miles away with its famous Isambard Kingdom Brunel railway line running along the seafront, black swans and waterfowl swimming on the brook with spacious lawns alongside hosting many summer events including the Red Arrows Airshow and Carnival week in August each year with lots to see and do every day.

Over 200 hectares are home to wildfowl and wading birds and butterflies which can be found at Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve. Also famous for its safe blue flag beaches and many traditional family attractions is only 1.5 miles.

A recently developed level cycle path is now in place from Cockwood to Dawlish Warren. Alternatively the bus stop is situated nearby next to Cockwood harbour.

Catch a foot passenger ferry from Starcross to Exmouth, or jump on a train heading 9 miles north to Exeter City and stroll through its diverse architecture and Roman remains or head south to Georgian inspired Torquay and marina and enjoy a memorable trip hugging the coastline.

Discover the ponies in Dartmoor National Park just 15 miles away, a must for those who love walking, exploring and getting away from it all for a while.
